Welcome from the Regional Director

In welcoming you to the Scottish Branches website, I thought a little introduction to myself may be required.

I have been a CAMRA member for nearly forty years and have been an active committee member for twenty-five. I have held nearly every role within a branch, and I was branch chair of two branches, Hull & East Yorkshire followed by Scarborough when I lived in Yorkshire. I have held regional positions in both Yorkshire and Scotland since 2015.

In Scotland, CAMRA supports our varied pub scene, be that independent, tenanted, managed or other business model and also our breweries, again independent, small or large, regional or group-owned. We value heritage but also support modern innovative companies and hope that all thrive in the industry.

Branches are the lifeblood of the campaign, and with them the volunteers who carry out the local campaigning and support for the local businesses. Without the various pub officers, brewery liaison officers, magazine editors, committee members and every one of our members, the campaign would not be the movement it is. If you enjoy real ale, cider or perry; value pubs and the breweries that support them, please consider joining us by becoming a member at https://join.camra.org.uk/. You will meet a diverse group of people and may make a wide range of new like-minded friends.

Look out for the beer and cider festivals that our branches organise across Scotland. As a member you get FREE admission to all CAMRA festivals. Come along, bring friends, join us or don’t, everyone is welcome.

If you see me at an event, meeting or just sitting on my own in a pub, come and say hello.

Cheers

Stewart
